Quaint town, excellent food and beautiful church. Long bus ride both ways from Amsterdam but cheaper than renting a car and trying to do same trip.
Bruges is a quaint yet bustling city with much to see and do - mainly shopping and eating. Meanwhile the bus, while clean, had neither wi-fi nor overhead lights for reading in the dark. The driver and tour guide were pleasant. Don't be late - the bus left some travelers behind after waiting about 15 minutes and we were three hours from our starting point in Amsterdam.
Great place to visit.... excelente tour... beAutiful.,,, and the experience with Viator booking.... excelent!!!!
Tour was fabulous- transportation was horrible. Guide was very knowledgeable. Lovely place with lots of treasures. The bus was oversold, forcing us to sit in rear facing seats at a table with no leg room to even put your feet. Less room than an airplane even in the regular seats. Terribly uncomfortable especially because you’re in the bus for 3 hours each way.
Interesting ride to Brugge enjoying the towns and countryside. Tour was an easy way to visit this historic city. However the well publicized problem of too many tourists was absolutely an issue. Not the tours fault.
The trip was awesome and our guide Pedro was superb! Very well organized trip and highly recommended.
Very long bus ride. No provisions made for weather problems, ie no plan B. No communication on way back to bus gathering point center of city, we were at designated area waiting with our radios on and were nearly left because of the crowds there did not see our group and guide leave no announcements were made over the radio.
The 3 hour journey there is in a comfortable double decker bus with toilet. Bruges is a great place to visit. We were given ample time to walk around and feast on the Waffles and French Fries.
Beautiful trip. Marianne was amazing, she was funny and very explicative it was nice to listen to her. The trip was very organised and I liked how Marianne and Jon were clear on the program and times. It's a 3h journey to Bruges but she's made it very pleasant and didn't feel that long! I was really impressed it exceeded my expectations! Worth all the money. Definitely recommend.
Our guide was Mary Ann, and she was terrific. She did the whole tour in 4 languages (German, Spanish, Dutch, and English). The trip to Brugge and back is 3 hours. Bus was comfortable. We then took a 1hr walk through Brugge to learn more about where we were before we had approximately 4 hours on our own for lunch and wandering. During our free time we hit up several chocolate shops (Old Chocolate House and The Chocolate Line are a MUST), plus Chez Albert for Belgian waffles, and a visit to the Basilica of the Holy Blood. We had cheap, tasty paninis at Venice Corn (weird name, great food). The pictures we took were amazing!
The trip was amazing! However, my honest opinion : Do know that it's not exactly "Full Day", it's 12 hours in total of which 6 hours was the round trip travel from Amsterdam to Bruges and then from Bruges to Amsterdam. So really, you're only getting 6 hours in Bruges of which 2 hours is the guided walk (if you choose to follow the group) and probably half to 1 hour lunch (which you definitely needed after the travelling and guided tour). At the end, you're really only left with less than 4 hours of free and easy. I say it was worth it because literally ALL the pictures and videos that I took on my phone (and I took A LOT!) turned out so amazing, Bruges have such beautiful colours and lighting (we were lucky the weather was so good to us, despite the very cold temperature). Whatever I posted on my Instagram, everything was WITHOUT EDIT and WITHOUT FILTER, that's how good it was for me! If you're a chocolate lover like me, definitely the best place for you! I would say for a first-timer, this is worth it. But I'm definitely going back to Bruges for a few nights stay in the future on my own :) #AmazingBeautifulBruges
Bruges is a lovely old town in Belgium. We did the day trip from Amsterdam to Bruges. It was a long day but worth it. The only thing I would recommend is for you to find your own place to eat lunch. We went to the restaurant where our guide was eating but we were very disappointed. My husbands meal came out cold and the young girl serving us wasn't friendly and seemed like she didn't want to be there at all. Another couple on our tour sat outside and after some time they got up and left because no one bothered to go outside and take their order. Beautiful chocolate shops and waffles in Bruges.
5 hours to wander around this city is too long. It leads to an expensive experience of eating, drinking, shopping, canal sailing, horse and cart tripping and paying to see tourist attractions within the city walls to fill in time. Returning 9.45pm to Amsterdam is too late. Use your own transport if possible.. Avoid sitting in the seats that back on to the toilet on the bus. The smell is dreadful and the constant traffic annoying. Use the bathroom before you get on the bus. Pay the 50cents and use the WC at the entrance of the city. There are no public toilets further into the village. The audio system on the bus is too loud which makes listening to the very knowledgeable guide unpleasant. Take a warm jacket and scarf, be prepared for cold late afternoon and evening. The city is well worth visiting truly beautiful.
the trip was excellent. The bus was very comfortable. The driver John was excellent and very experienced. I was a bit cautious about that long of a trip but it ran too fast and the commute there and back was very easy. Elsa, the guide was excellent and very nice. She provided very valuable information and was very pleasant. Bruges itself is a gem and should not be missed. I wish we had more days there.
Everything about this tour was so good and planned. Our tour guide ,Marian was so polite and professional. She told us about the history of Bruges on the way.We started from Amsterdam 10 am and reached Bruges at 1 pm. It could have been better if we started little bit earlier than this .Even if we reached there at 1 pm , the tour guide gave us ample of time explore Bruges in our own way. Bruges is a very beautiful and medieval town. We enjoyed very much Bruges own Waffles and chocolates. Over all it was very nice experience and definitely recommend this tour to fellow travellers
We truly enjoyed Bruges - it is a place I have always wanted to visit - and it did not disappoint us at all - our tour guide Pieter was amazing - extremely knowledgeable- very caring and helpful - we felt very secure with him in such a far place - we will be touring Brussels with him again in a few days - you will not be disappointed with this tour or tour company
We really enjoyed this trip to Bruges. Bruges is a stunning place to visit. It is a must! We also got a free canal cruise when we purchased the tickets which was a bonus.
Everything went well. Mary An, the tour guide, and Heidi, the driver, really went out of their way to attend to our every need. Very efficient and systematic.
Well organised, Mary Anne was so polite and funny and very informative, have never done a tour before but I really enjoyed it and we learnt lots about the beautiful bruge
Good but not great !! Guide was wonderful but very tiring and hectic. There was a mistake on the part of the tour company: The guide made us work through Bruges and showed the monuments in a flicker of a second and after that he told us to explore on our own with the bus standing on the same side from where we started walking. There should be an arrangement to lift the tourist from other side of the town rather than walking all over again. BRUGES was beautiful !!
The tour started on time, the ride to Bruges was so comfortable. The guide was very knowledgeable on Bruges and its history. Value for money is worth it.
I got to visit Belgium and the Netherlands. Bruges is a lovely city with great beer, chocolate and fries. Our guide was funny and knew a lot about the history and culture both Belgium and the Netherlands.
