A really, really great tour with so many interesting Amsterdam food items to try out. Our guide Louke was super friendly, and also so informative not only about the cuisine, but about the places we visited and the areas we passed through as well. She was great at making sure we got our food samples quickly, even at the wonderful and quite busy city marketplace which was one of our food stops. (A personal favourite.) Thanks so much!
We had Anja all to ourselves and really enjoyed our afternoon! We saw the city, went to markets, tried herring and waffles and cheeses and...Anja is a native of Amsterdam and was full of information, generous in every way, and has a great sense of humor! Thanks again, Anja! Jerri and Carl
The guide was very nice and knowledgeable about the food in the local areas. Very opinionated about the Amsterdam community and explained the way of life, which I found very helpful.. . However, in the description of the tour said that it would also include beer tasting. But we had a comprise and he directed us to a local bar.
Laura was an excellent tour guide. We toured the open-air market and tried many local foods including herring, eel, mussels, cheese and pancakes. It was a very enjoyable time and we recommend this tour if you visit Amsterdam.
It was amazing!!! Our guide, Olaf was fantastic! He took us to local places that he has known for many years! Food was amazing and his stories and knowledge of Amsterdam gave us a true flavor of the city!!! I would do it again!!!
Martin met us right on time and as we walked he provided a great deal of information about the history of the city overall, the neighborhood we were walking through and was quite willing to answer questions. Our first stop was a restaurant that served food from Suranam. It was quite delicious and again Martin shared why he had chosen this spot via the history of the Netherlands. We then went to a local street festival and had freshly made struesswaffel, YUM!!!! Our third stop was to eat herring and freshly made fish. Finally, we had a cheese stop. All the food was delicious and Martin certainly is knowledgable about the city and gave us a view of a part of the city the Pipj? we had not been in, The only negative we had was that we felt that the end of the tour was a bit abrupt. He got up to pay the bill, came back, a handshake and gone. Thankfully we are able to figure out where we needed to go and how to get there but others might appreciate some guidance.
This food tour was one of the best we have ever done anywhere. Our guide Olav was incredible. He explained the history of Amsterdam as we were walking toward the food market. We tasted so many Dutch foods from herring to their waffles. The small size of this tour makes it very personal.
We try to do a food tour whenever we travel. My favorite was the fish shop. I normally would not eat herring, but the herring was incredible! We tried two different recipes. We also had mussels, eel and cod. Everything was very fresh. We stopped at 4 other places. My second favorite was for cheese, beer and bitterballs.
We had a great food tour with AnnaMaria. It was the perfect way to start our time in Amsterdam. AnnaMaria was full of information about the food scene and took us to a variety of places to taste local foods and drink. She was fun, full of personality and gave us great history and information. Later we text her about a place we had gone as we could not remember the name to go back and she promptly was happy to help. Would highly recommend AnnaMaria for your Amsterdam food tour!
Karina our tour guide was lovely. She took us in the streets where the locals shopped and through the local market. The food we tried was all delicious and we were absolutely stuffed!!!
