Bay of Islands - Two Day Tour ex Auckland

Your journey will travel north of Auckland through the small rural townships and rolling countryside to Paihia the central hub of the Bay of Islands. Enjoy a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty grounds before being dropped back into Paihia township and board a ferry which will take you on a short trip over to the historic township of Russell. Return to Paihia at your leisure and your accommodation for the night - the Kingsgate Hotel. The next morning you will enjoy a 3-hour boat cruise to the "Hole in the Rock" before making your way back to Auckland in the afternoon. Board a luxury tour coach in Auckland and travel north. Full tour commentary is provided. Pass through Whangarei, Northlands only city, and major port, before arriving at the Bay of Islands. Upon arrival, travel along the attractive shoreline to the historic Waitangi Treaty House and grounds. Enjoy a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds including the Treaty House, the Maori Meeting House, and the large Maori War Canoe. You will be met by your driver at the Waitangi Visitor Information Centre and then continue to Paihia Wharf to catch the ferry to Russell. In Russell, you will enjoy a fascinating tour by minibus of New Zealands most historic settlement, rich in cultural and whaling history. After the tour returns to Paihia you may check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day. Day two will begin with the Cape Brett Hole-in-the-Rock Cruise. Highlights include Cape Brett Lighthouse, Motukokako Islands famous Hole in the Rock, and a visit to Otehei Bay. Enjoy the large outdoor viewing decks as we cruise past the islands of the Bay. Keep a look out for common and bottlenose dolphins, whales and other marine life as our experienced local skippers get you up close to the action. After the cruise, enjoy a few more hours of exploration around the Bay of Islands at your own leisure before boarding your coach back to Auckland in the late afternoon.
