Our trip to St. Emilion went very smoothly from start to finish. We were met by our tour guide at the Tourism Office in Bordeaux where she introduced herself and explained the itinerary for the morning. The drive to St. Emilion took approx. 1 hour but it didn’t feel like an hour as our guide was explaining about the history of wine in the region and the influence of the sun, soil and water on the grapes. Once in St. Emilion we visited Villeneuve Vineyard and were shown around the processing plant and the storage caves by James our extremely knowledgeable Sommelier. Our visit included wine tasting which James hosted in the village of St. Emilion where we sampled 6 delicious local red wines with the opportunity to purchase! Our visit concluded with free time to explore the architecture and retail opportunities of St. Emilion. We then met our tour guide for a smooth ride back to Bordeaux.
We thoroughly enjoyed our half day St Emilion tour with Clement, who provided lots of insight, knowledge of wine and local tips! A good group and an entertaining and expert guide. As others have commented, anyone looking to see more of the town would be better booking a full day trip, but this was an ideal introduction to the region and its winemaking - as well as tasting!
Our guide, Luigi, was very informative. He was our driver and guide. He even was the guide for the wine tour and was very good. I highly recommend this tour with Luigi as the guide. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.
We had the most wonderful visit to St Emilion for a half day trip. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and showed us a great time. We were able to go to a chateaux with two different labels, both of which were excellent. During our explanation of the town, we opted to taste at 2 different wine shops as well which rounded out the experience! Overall, wonderful trip. I highly recommend doing if you’re in Bordeaux and don’t have time for more!
With limited time in Bordeaux our group booked a half day trip to this beautiful village, our tour guide Angie was delightful, keeping us entertained on the drive to and from St Emilion. Wine tasting with experts in a fantastic location I was snap happy taking photographs. Highly recommend this trip while in Bordeaux and hopefully you too will get Angie with her excellent knowledge of wine - Cheers
The small group was nice and tour guide informative and personable. Wine tasting and time in St. Emilion were great.
Although our guide was very personable, I was utterly disappointed in spending 2 hours round trip commuting to St. Emilion apart from making a stop in downtown St. Emilion on the way for a "history" lesson - this used up majority of the trip. After making it to the winery, the woman that worked at the winery proceeded to give us a tour for 30 minutes on how they produce the wine which is fine but I'd recommend they provide a welcome glass like they do in Napa so you can "sip and tour". This effectively left us with 20 minutes for our tasting which was 3 - 1 ounce tastings of red wine. Given I took the 2 hour train in from Paris that day, this was a waste of my time given my previous experiences in Napa Valley, California. I'd recommend picking another tour company, do you research and do not commute from Paris the day of. I'd honestly rent a car and set up the tastings myself for a more leisurely view of wine country.
Wonderful afternoon spent exploring the wineries and region of St Emilion. Our guide was knowledgeable about all aspects of wines from the Bordeaux region, and we had a lovely time strolling around the town of St Emilion. Highly recommend this tour.
The tour was excellent overall. History/information, sights, and a winery covered. I would just stress to potential customers that this isn't something *too* geared towards tasting wine. Rather it is a fair bit sight seeing and informational. That context in mind, the tour was great.
A very rushed half day winery tour. Beautiful location and guide/driver were very pleasant and knowledgeable but too quick. Not enough time in the beautiful UNESCO village. Hardly saw anything unfortunately.
Fantastic tour. Tour driver/guide was a nice, normal person who was very knowledgable about the St Emilion area and wine growing. The guide at the two wineries was very knowledgable and very kind. I wish I could give this tour six stars for this reason: We contacted the tour operator before the tour and they rearranged the tour to match up with our lunch plans.
Our afternoon trip proved to be a good choice. The minivan was comfortable, our English Speaking guide was very professional but with the human touch, she drove well and was very safe. Our visit to the vineyard was informative and interesting and we saw much of the St Emilion region including St Emilion itself. Duration was perfect for an afternoon trip out.
Driver, tour guide and general organisation very good. Pity about the weather!! The wine tasting tour was interesting and we were able to see a bit of St Emilion in the dry!
Guide gave us an option of a guided tour of the town or doing it on our own. All of us chose to have a guided tour. Would be best if we can have both. Did not have time to stroll around at all. Its a very nice town, what a waste. Maybe the tour should be 5 hours instead of 4.
Great trip and an excellent and knowledgeable guide (Emily). Just enough time to sample some wine and cheese and look around st emilion
Lovely morning in St. Emilion with knowledgeable guide. Company should have provided guidance about Saturday yellow vest transport disruptions. Would do again.
Karim was our tour guide, he was very informative, interactive and conducted a great tour. We had a wonderful time and we learned a lot about wine and especially wine in Saint Emilion.
You won't find a better tour of St Emilion. Great guide, entertaining and very clued-up. And .. very importantly, a good driver, too. Never a moment's anxiety on the road. Thnaks again
We went to Chateau La Croizille for our wine tour and tasting. The host had a nice tour of their facilities and did a good job talking us through it. The wine was good too. Our driver/guide for the day was very good. Very knowledgeable about the area, not overdone though. She led us around the town of St. Emilion but you can also tour it on your own if you'd like.
This tour was amazing!
We only wanted to spend half a day wine tasting so this was perfect for us. Plenty of time in St Emillion. Informative host, Amy. All ran to time would highly recommend.
