Day 1: Breakfast. You will start with a city tour in Bucharest. You will visit the Parliament House which is the second largest building in the world, the old center, Triumph Arch, Cotroceni Palace – former royal residence and current residence of the President of Romania. Overnight in Bucharest.
Day 2: After breakfast you will visit Primaverii Palace, the former residence of Nicolae Ceausescu, the communist dictator who ruled Romania for more than 20 years. Transfer to Brasov. On the way we will make a stop in Sinaia to visit Peles Castle – former royal residence, an architectural jewel, built at the initiative of the first King of Romania in 1875. After another 1h drive we arrive in Brasov, lovely medieval town. Here you visit the First Romanian School Museum, the Black Church and the Council Square. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Breakfast. In this day we invite you to discover the most important tourist attractions of Transylvania. First you will stop to visit the Bear Sanctuary. Your second stop is Bran Castle also called Dracula’s Castle. This place got its fame from the novel Dracula, written by Bram Stoker. In the afternoon we visit Rasnov Fortress, one of the best preserved peasant fortress of Transylvania.
Day 4: Breakfast. Some free time in Poiana Brasov. You have various possibilities: you can climb the mountain car or you can spend a wonderful day relaxing at the spa - massage, sauna, and swimming pool in this beautiful mountain landscape! You also have the chance to enjoy the lovely Brasov and walk through the old town. The day must end with shopping! Dinner and overnight.
Day 5: After breakfast you go towards Fagaras Fortress, former political-administrative center. In the early seventeenth century, the city became the princely residence of Michael the Brave. From 1948 until 1960 the castle was used as a prison. In one of its towers “The Iron Lady” was found; a medieval torture device. The tour then continues towards Sibiu city in the heart of Germanic Transylvania. Sibiu is divided into two distinct areas: the Upper Town and the Lower Town. Traditionally, the Upper Town was the wealthier part and the commercial outlet, while the Lower Town served as the manufacturing area. You will see here Brukenthal National Museum, the Large Square which is the historic center of Sibiu, the Little Square which is the second largest historic place of Sibiu, the Evangelical Church, and the Liars’ Bridge. In the evening return to Brasov. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 6: Breakfast. Transfer to Bucharest, on the way you will stop in Targoviste. In this day we visit the former royal residence from Targoviste where Vlad Tepes ruled. Also, you visit in Targoviste the military unit where the former dictator Nicolae Ceausescu was judged and executed in 1989. The tour will end in Bucharest.
