Very well organized and a wonderful tour guide! I would recommend it to Everyone. Just be aware in Dracula’s castle the walk is a little bit steep
It's a long drive but you het to see plenty of countryside. Then the two Castles are fascinating. A great trip.
Tour covered the sites listed and was a comfortable and interesting day. Too much time was spent waiting for persons in the group who wandered off (perhaps phone contacts could have been used to text instead of everyone else having to wait). The company advertises hotel pick up from those listed on their pick up list. This was not the case; we did not mind the 10 min walk, but if you really need the pick up be sure to confirm it before booking.
We recently took this tour and the castles were nice, but the day could have been better organized considering the length of the entire tour. For instance, we had a 1.5 hour stop at Brasov that was meant to be used for lunch and exploring, however, service was slow and lunch took the entire time. Other people on the tour had the same slow service at different restaurants and had the same complaint. We finally arrived at Bran Castle around 5pm and had only 1 hour to visit the castle and see the surrounding grounds. This was not nearly enough time because it was so busy and by the time we finished the castle there was almost no time to see the grounds, take pictures, and look at the market. It seems it would make more sense to extend the time at the two castles and remove Brasov from the itinerary.
Our guide, Rodica, was excellent. She was happy to answer any all questions. She is very knowledgeable about this tour and history. Driver was also good.
Trip was good, guide was good but I complained to guide the driver texting as going up mountain she dealt with that so good
Tour was excellent , with well arranged pick up and drop off. Driver and Guide were excellent and entertaining. Worth the money and time. Cheers
The tour was made so much more intersting by our driver-guide Roberto. He has a great sense of humour and also gives his passengers options when there is more than one route to get there. He is very accomodating. The tour itself was accurate to the online description and my wife and I thourly enjoyed it.This was my first viator booking and hope the next are as good.
We enjoyed very much the sights. The guide was great and did the best to make our trip one of the highlights of our visit in Romania.
A nice excursion. Castles were fun and the tour guide was superb. Gave us great information on Romanian history, culture, food and tradition. A nice way to see some of Romania outside Bucharest. Stop in Brasov was a surprising and really nice part of the tour, too. Enjoyed as much if not more than the castles.
A great tour with beautiful scenery, amazing castles and a lot of history I really enjoyed our day tour, everything was very well planned. Would highly recommend
Our driver nd guide Alex was outstanding.his knowledge of his countrys history nd most of all his love nd pride for his country was what changed our perspective of the country. It was a great great tour to take.
Had a great experienced on this tour. Our guide (I forgot his name) is very knowledgeable and spoke very well English. He made our tour completely unforgettable, especially at the end of the tour he gave us some facts of life advise and made me want to visit Romania again and use this tour again. Very highly recommended, that gentlemen (tour guide) should get a raise he made our trip to Romania a very memorable.
The tour is good. The only problem I had with it was the people there also at the newer places. First, a pack of kids pushing by our entire group in the line to see things as if it were a race, with seemingly no adult supervision at all. But that's not my tour operators responsibility. Just my experience. In looking in the doorways (you weren't allowed in many rooms), one would turn around to be met by someone who was hostile to you because you spent (GASP!) FIVE WHOLE SECONDS looking in the doorway, and their precious Jean-Luc had to wait their turn. The other thing is...what sense does it make to convene your group in packed area? STOP DOING THAT! You can convene your group a whopping 10 feet away and accomplish ALL the same things without getting people pressed. Convening your group at an ingress/egress is a sign of lack of intelligence. Stop doing it.
This is an amazing trip. Went with my husband and two girls and we thoroughly enjoyed. Fabulous landscape, beautiful castles, gorgeous city of Brasov.....what's not to enjoy! Thanks to Mary who was a wonderful tour guide. Highly recommend. Sue
Great trip. Two beautiful castles and the outstanding town of Brashov. However do not be mistaken - Bran castle has nothing to do with the fictional character of Dracula or the real historical person who is known as Vlad the Impaler. It is a very long trip (we took nearly 16 hours) but if you can put up with the long day it is certainly worth it.
The stops on the tour were great and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. The stops at Castle Peles and Bran Castle were great. The stop in Old Town Brasov was nice, however, it seemed as though it was a lunch stop and time filler that was not needed as the day was much too long, 0700-2300 from pick up to drop off. Most of the day was spent on the bus between stops that included the Brasov tour.
Not a pleasant experience. Specifically the bus ride portion. It was a 3.5 hour ride each way with no working toilet on the bus. But even worse than that the driver and guide insisted on playing the radio the entire ride. So I was forced to either suffer through the music they were playing on the bus or blast my iPod into my ears loud enough to try and drown out what they were playing. Neither of which was enjoyable. It seems the smartest thing to do would be keep the bus quiet. That way customers who want silence can have it. If a customer does want to listen to music along the ride then, considering it is 2018, thy more than likely have some sort of music playing device that allows them to listen to the type of music that THEY CHOOSE to listen to rather than being forced to listen to whatever type of music the bus driver likes to play. I personally like to read on a long ride like this and it is not condusive to doing so when the bus driver insists on playing the radio the entire trip. Peace and quiet would have been nice on this trip. I also let the tour guide know I wasnt pleased with his but she did nothing. One last thing there are no power outlets on the bus anywhere so be sure to bring and external battery or your phone will be dead by mid day.
