Amal was an excellent guide. She is incredibly knowledgeable and she taught us so much about the history of Egypt. We were able to see so much during our tour and we recommend this tour for anyone who only has limited time for exploring Cairo!
Pyramids, Sphinx, Museum and bazaar were all absolutely amazing. Must do trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Egypt but we felt that we are being unnecessarily pushed to buy things or give extravagant tips. Also, we wanted to some private time for ourselves at lunch but we didn't get that. We were surprised that the meal that was included in our package was supposed to be a shared meal with the guide and the driver. We should have been made aware of the requirement. Plus, the food we had was the worst we got in Cairo. So I would suggest using some other agency or at least clarify these issues with the agent before booking.
Zenab was a great host, she showed us around the city and was very accommodating to our needs. She found out it was my boyfriends birthday and surprised him with a thoughtful gift. Z knows this city inside and out, and has many connections. We enjoyed our time and would recommend this tour. Thank you again!
I booked this tour after reading a number of reviews. It did not disappoint. I was lucky to have such an amazing guide (thank you Zenab) who knows a lot about egypt's history. My guide contacted me a day before my tour to inform me of the meeting time. The next day, she arrived earlier than scheduled. Zenab also allowed me to do some modifications on the sites we visited. Since I'm not really in the mood to visit the old market and buy stuff, she agreed to swap it with the Citadel instead. Zenab is very patient and kind and i never felt rushed. She gives me time to roam by myself, takes awesome photos and the lunch we had is superb. The camel ride by the pyramids is probably one of the highlights for me. I will definitely recommend this to anyone. I'm travelling alone but felt completely safe the entire time. Our driver, Akhmed, is also very kind and he drives safely. Egypt is quite safe and not as bad as the media portray it to be. Still, you need to be mindful of your surroundings the same way you do regardless of where you travel. This tour is highly recommended!
Our private tour was with Michael and a driver. They picked us up at our hotel, and took us to the main attraction sites at Cairo. We had a delicious lunch, and they made sure to take care of our needs as we traveled throughout the day. It was nice because although they were guiding us, they also allowed us to go on our own in certain locations to explore and take our time when wanted. Would highly recommend!
Our guide was informative and helpful. We went back to shop. You just have to know how to bargain
My wife and I scheduled a one-day tour for a short stopover in Cairo. Our guide, Zenab, and her driver met us at the hotel exactly on time. She offered an itinerary and also stressed that the day was ours to adjust as necessary. My wife is a consummate photographer, so Zenab assured us we would get the best photos give our time constraint. She did not disappoint in the least. She arranged for us the best camel drive for photos at the pyramids, and the best vantage points for photos of them and the Sphinx. She enroute to a classic Cairo lunch, we visited a papyrus shop and another shop (normal practice) where she stressed we did not have to buy anything. However, we found excellent items and each and did make some purchases. Zenab had an obvious love for and deep knowledge of Egypt's history and culture, and was excited to show us the "must see" exhibits at the Egyptian Antiquities Museum. The highlight for my wife was the vibrant Marketplace/Bazaar, from which I had to drag her away when our tour was ending.
We had a 8 hour private tour of the Pyramids, Sphinx, Egyptian Museum and Bazaar including a camel ride and lunch. It was absolutely amazing. We feel that we saw the best of Egypt with-in one day. Both my friend and I felt that our tour guide absolutely made our trip. His knowledge was absolutely brilliant as well his communication skills. We had Ashraf Zakhary from Tree of Life tours.
This is excellent tour that i had in Cairo. My tour guide Amal Ammar is nice, she's tell me every information about the locations. She arrived to my hotel just before the tour start time, very reliable! She give good suggestion how to offer the price when wanted to buy something. The restaurant we went was good. We have a very fabulous day. The tour is worthwhile as it last for exactly 8 hours. I would recommended to every one, if Amal Ammar is your tour guide!
I took this tour on Friday as I only had two days in Cairo/Giza and wanted to see the main sights. Mohamed was my tour guide for the day and he was great, very knowledgeable and tailored the tour to my requests. As a female solo traveller I was a bit apprehensive but Mohamed made me feel very safe and the day went very smoothly. This is a great way to see key points of interest in Cairo on a tight schedule, highly recommend!
We had a wonderful day with our tour guide Zenab. I actually booked this tour because it had the highest rating on Viator, and all the reviews are not wrong! Firstly Zenab contacted me the day before via Whatsapp and confirmed everything. She even accommodated our request to start a little later because we were very tired from the flight. We met her promptly in our hotel lobby and we instantly became friends. Zenab speaks excellent English and is really knowledgeable about Egyptian History. We had a private mini van with us all day, which was great as we would leave stuff in the van and just get in and out. Our drivers were excellent in negiotiating Cairo traffic. Our first stop were the pyramids, and Zenab took the time to point out important Cairo landmarks on our journey there. We found out a lot about recent Egyptian history. At the pyramids, all our tickets were paid for and we got in smoothly. Zenab made sure we were not hassled by any sellers. She told us all about the scams to look out for. She took us to the best spot for photos and happily took loads for photos for us. We also had a camel ride included in the price. If you've never been on a camel before, be aware that its a thrill ride and much less stable than riding a horse. However we all enjoyed it, and had some funny stories to tell at the end. Our camel guides also took some lovely photos of us on the camels with the pyramids. We tipped them 50 egyptian pounds each which is considered a good tip. We also had the time to go inside one of the smaller pyramids none of us were too keen on going into the large pyramid which you have to pay an extra 200 pounds for. It was quite the adventure going down into the burial chamber and wonderful to see what was inside the chamber in the Egyptian museum. I highly recommend people wear sensible athletic shoes for this. We also got to climb a little way up the largest pyramid to take photos. We also visited the sphinx and again took loads of photos. Zenab was excellent and captivating at explaining all the history. We had some time before lunch so we visited a papyrus gallery. Zenab made sure to emphasize that we should not feel pressured to buy anything. We had a good demonstration of how papyrus was made and also what papyrus looked like because I actually didn't know. We never felt pressured to buy anything and really enjoyed wandering around the papyrus art gallery. The works were high quality here - not like what we saw later on in the bazaar. Lunch was superb. We went to a nice local Egyptian place and had a set menu with lots of starters, the main course was a choice between beef, chicken or fish. I had the fish and it was very tender. The afternoon was spent at the Egyptian museum, and Zenab showed us all the highlights. Its much better than going with a guide because Zenab was able to tell us much more than the small information plaques could. We saw all the treasures of Tutankhamun. Again the ticket price was included. Zenab took us to see some mummies but we decided not to pay extra to see the exposed royal mummies as we come from London and had seen plenty before in the British Museum. At the end we had some free time. The last stop was the Bazaar, the largest in Cairo. It was a wonderful and colour taste of local Egyptian life and it didn't feel too touristy at all. The stores are a virtual Aladdin's cave of treasures and also a lot of colourful tat. We got to see one man cycling whilst balancing a huge tray of bread in one hand above his head. We stopped by the Mosque of Hassan for some pictures and Zenab took us to a famous Egyptian Pancake place. The pancakes were delicious, fresh out of the oven and wonderfully crispy. We cannot thank Zenab enough for such a good day. My advice is that you should bring cash for tips, and also to buy souvenirs because both the Egyptian Museum and Bazaar are good places to get them. Wear sensible shoes or sandals, and bring lots of sunblock and water. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the main highlights of Cairo in one day.
My daughter and I had traveled from London- Our flight had been delayed so we arrived at our Cairo hotel at 6am. So we were both a little tired Our tour leader Zenbu and the driver picked us up at 8am for our tour. Her knowledge on the history was amazing as was her English. We had a great day and we were overwhelmed by the pyramids, the sphinx and the Museum. Lunch was also very good and entertaining. We would certainly recommend this tour
Yasser was a really great tour guide and a great host while in Egypt. He picked us up promptly from our hotel lobby, in an air conditioned car, and from the beginning told us everything he could about Egypt, it's culture, the ancient sites we were going to visit and everything in between. At one point, there was a small hang up with the tour, however Yasser talked us through the entire thing and made sure we were OK. Additionally, the lunch provided was really good - grilled chicken and vegetables with an assortment of sides to go along with it!! Overall, we had a great time. We would refer friends to come back.
This is a private tour just you, your tour guide, and a driver, so you get to decide how long to spend at each location! I also get to ask my tour guide Amina a lot of questions who is friendly, very knowledgeable and speaks fluent English. Your tour guide will also shield you from all the hustles of street vendors etc. so you can focus on enjoying the culture and scenery. If you have one more day to spare in Cairo I also recommend booking the Cairo city tour with them for Coptic Cairo and Islamic Cairo. Overall, highly recommended!
We had this guided tour with Zenab, and I have to say I was amazed with her professionalism. She knows so well about the city that she planned everything right in time. When in the Egypt Museum, she was even able to provide us with the key highlights with detailed explanation of the status. She was in no rush, so as to allow us to have our own time to do whatever we wanted. The lunch was a great one too, that we could indeed hardly finish all the dishes
