La moschea di alabastro della Cittadella del Saladino si trova sulla cima di una collina calcarea che sovrasta Il Cairo ed è la moschea più importante della città. Utilizzato ancora oggi come luogo di culto dai musulmani del Cairo, il capolavoro architettonico apre le sue porte a visitatori di tutte le religioni. All'interno della moschea la guida ti illustrerà le credenze fondamentali dell'Islam, tra cui una traduzione delle preghiere più comuni.
Continuando verso il bazar Khan el Khalili, la guida ti racconterà dei famosi mercati che si dice abbiano ispirato Cristoforo Colombo nella scoperta dell'America. Approfitta del tempo libero per passeggiare nel labirinto di strade e tenta la fortuna contrattando con i proprietari di negozi per un souvenir del tuo viaggio in Egitto.
Prosegui verso la moschea e madrasa (scuola) del Sultano Hassan. Costruita tra il 1356 e il 1363, è considerata uno dei migliori esempi di architettura mamelucca al Cairo. La moschea è anche considerata uno delle più grandi, non solo al Cairo ma in tutto il mondo islamico, con una lunghezza di circa 150 metri e un'altezza di 36 metri. Il minareto più alto è di 68 metri.

We loved this tour! My mom wears a knee brace and the guide was very respectful of this. He offered to help her if she saw her struggling with any stairs. The guide and driver were extremely accommodating, especially at the end when we said we wanted to find a good jewelry shop. They both stayed beyond the listed hours to make sure that we were comfortable and had a good experience. We were also able to visit an additional mosque. The guide had excellent English and could answer all of our questions, as well as give an accurate historical portrayal of the sites visited. He seemed passionate about sharing his Egyptian culture with us.

Our tour guide Mohammed was the best. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and super accommodating. He gave so much explanation, but not too much to where you get bored. He had the imam at the mosque to a prayer for us..it was amazing. He was willing to modify schedule to include lunch and took us to great restaurant in the market. I completely recommend this tour.

The tour was ok. If you're interested about visiting mosque this is the place to see. The same tour guide we had on our tour for Coptic Cairo, the hanging church, we have to wait again for him for few minutes, gave us the history of the place and then he just let us explore the place, take pictures and waited for us outside.you only need couple of hours to complete this trip.

The sites visited were of historical and cultural importance, and the guide was accurate and very informative in his descriptions. Much, much better than many previous tour guides on other excursions. He also accommodated very well what I really wanted to see, and did not need to see. I cannot recommend him too highly.

The tour guide was amazing! He had great insight on the history and allowed me to enjoy it like a local. Visiting the mosques were beautiful and he made the experience a great one
