Great tour, the tour guide was awesome and very patient, we had so much fun and will diffidently recommend it .
Jose was AMAZING! Totally loved it and I recommend this tour to everyone.
Jose was amazing!
Deb did an amazing job as our leader on this all day tour! We had a great day full of adventure and learned a lot also!! We had a sweet meal after all the adventure that was very enjoyable in the picnic area... I would say its a very active excursion with heights and speed involved.
The water in the cenotes is so clear, you feel like you are floating in the air, as you look to the floor below, up to 60ft deep. Stalactites, stalagmites, and columns abound, lit by the light of tour guide who accompanies you through the chasms. This part of the tour was absolutely spectacular and worth the trip alone. There are 5 ziplines, one of them ending in a water touchdown. Men.....keep your legs together to avoid a Mayan vasectomy. The ziplines were.......well ziplines. For first timers or acrophobic folks, this may be a highlight as you climb up well built rope ladders, at steep angles, up several stories to a wooden huts on stilts from where you will make the leap. The only dissappointment of the trip was that Tulum was in the afternoon in August. There is more than a mile and half of walking, and the tempurature and humidity was brutal to the point that my son and I gave up on exploring the site to get in the ocean until the end meet up time. When signing up for the tour, it states Tulum is visited first, which would have been ideal. Overall, great trip!
I booked this tour because I've seen so many pictures of Tulum and wanted to go there but didn't know if it was safe to rent a car and drive. I also wanted to go on the adventures - 4x4, ziplining and cenote snorkeling all sounded fantastic! We were very very happy with the tour. Diego, our guide, picked us up around 7am in a nice 15 passenger van and had 3 other stops at nearby hotels before our journey to Tulum. The man was spacious and almost new and he drove at a good speed - definitely beat the big ol' tour buses! The ride was smooth and we got there quickly! Tulum was gorgeous - just like the pictures! We opted to stay for the tour to hear the history of Tulum and then we had a little time to ourselves to explore. I think the archaeological tour and explanation wasn't as interested as I'd like and was fairly short - we didn't get anything from it and wish we'd take the extra time to explore and walk around the ruins ourselves. We had about an hour to explore but it definitely wasn't enough time to see much of anything, especially if you wanted to take pictures. It also rained on us so we weren't able to see what we wanted to and wished we had more time here. I didn't get to go onto the beach at all and made a good choice not to get wet yet cause it was such a short time period here. Onwards to the Jungle Maya, which was only about a 5 minute ride away. The 4x4 vehicle was cool to take us into the jungle - but it was a paved road and they only made it bumpy for the effects. I wished it was a little more like an offroading experience so the advertisement for a 4x4 ride was interpreted differently. It definitely wasn't what I expected but it is exactly like the photos show. We are given lockers to lock our stuff in, and towels to carry in a little backpack. We started with 2 ziplines and then headed to the 3rd zipline where we ziplined into the cenote. Such an awesome experience!!! We then proceeded to rappel into the cenote and snorkel into the cenote, which was my favorite event all day. The waters were so clear and the limestone formations were beautiful. You get to see mini bats inside the caves and it was a once in a lifetime experience. I've been to a cenote last time I was in Cancun, probably close to Chitzen Itza, and this was by far more beautiful. They also did a little Mayan ritual/blessing inside a cave, which was short and felt like it was to pass some time. And we had a nice Mayan lunch - with stewed chicken, vegetable soup, empanadas, a banana leaf pancake, and some rice and beans with tamarindo for drinks! We then proceed to the last two ziplines to get back to the start and return our towels and change. We were given tequila in exchange for our towels and were able to view and purchase photos and videos taken during the journey! Then back to Cancun we went. I honestly wished it was a bit longer - if they extended the Tulum ruins part so we can shop at some of the vendors and look around and maybe have breakfast. We left Tulum around 3-3:30pm so it was still pretty early. We got back to the hotel probably around 5ish and we were the last group to get dropped off. I would've liked to extend the tour a bit to get a bit more time in Tulum. But loved our guide - he was so nice and friendly! And everyone was fantastic!
The tour is more of a day at Jungle Safari doing the Cenote Abseil and Ziplines with a visit to Tulum afterwards to see the site, the guide from the Safari company was very good with his knowledge on Tulum though and explained it all well - The photo policy at the Jungle site is a joke though, you are not allowed to take photos in the Cenote or Zipline as they take them and charge a fortune for them. They have rules about safety with cameras on the abseil / rappel and needing your hands free but won't allow you to put it in sealed pockets Not breaking their rules as they want you to buy their photos, that is bad profiteering from my side, also bargain on the photos, they are so overpriced people initially refuse the first price Usually 50-70 for a package and they will go down 15-20 if you haggle, also be aware they charge groups the photo price for all, try and get individual photos
Just a fantastic day! We snorkeled, rapelled, did the jungle tour, and visited the Tulum ruins. A solid 10 hour day they was nothing short of awesome. We have snorkeled a few different places in the Caribbean, but nothing compares with the under ground river cenote that this tour offers. Our guide, Israel, was amazing. Our group consisted of 2 couples from the US, a Canadian, a couple from Chile, and a family of 4 from Argentina, and he kept us all well informed of everything, in English and Spanish. Highly recommend this!
This was an awesome experience. Ivan was a great guide and made our time together amazing! Highly recommend this tour to anyone interested!
