Appuntamento con la guida al Green Door Tavern per iniziare il tour di 3 ore e mezza, alla scoperta dei quattro bar clandestini storici di Chicago durante il proibizionismo, aperti ancora oggi. Porta con te il tuo documento d'identità, rilasciato dal governo, il denaro per acquistare le bevande e una macchina fotografica.
Tra una tappa e l'altra, viaggerai a bordo di un comodo pullman con aria condizionata e in ogni locale, scoprirai i cocktail tipici degli anni '20. Se ti piace quello che vedi e ascolti, acquista un cocktail personalizzato, pensato per te. Mentre sorseggi i cocktail preparati sul momento da baristi esperti, la tua guida ben preparata e piena di entusiasmo ti presenterà i protagonisti dell'epoca del proibizionismo. Ascolterai storie di legislatori e trasgressori della legge, tra cui Al Capone e altri famosi gangster di Chicago che sono diventati potenti durante questi anni di sete del proibizionismo.
Ogni ex bar clandestino che visiterai ha un carattere diverso. Una delle tappe sarà una taverna del centro, costruita nel 1872 e decorata con oggetti d'antiquariato e da collezione americani, con un ambiente vecchio stile di Chicago. Poi siediti su uno sgabello di uno dei cocktail bar di Wicker Park, dove potrai ascoltare ottima musica blues di vecchi jukebox. Potrai anche entrare nel bar di quartiere che sostiene di essere il più antico e duraturo della città vecchia. Termina il tour presso un ristorante del centro cittadino, che si vocifera si stato il luogo di ritrovo preferito di Al Capone, dove quotidiani, fotografie, e manifesti storici ricoprono le pareti del bar.
Il tour termina nel centro di Chicago Loop.

This was a really fun tour where we visited bars that were open as speak-easys back in the day. Miranda our guide was a pleasure and taught us a lot about what it was really like in the prohibition era.

Sydney and Meredith made the trip simply delightful. We followed their suggestions for drinks, and weren’t disappointed. I was glad there was time to eat as well as drink as we saw the backrooms and basements of the 13 years of Prohibition. Try the Lemon Drop at Lucky’s. Avoid the Chicago Handshake at Maggie’s Still.

This was a very fun and interesting tour, our guide was awesome, knew her stuff and made it fun! The bar staff was ready for us and service was awesome. The background and history for each bar was incredible interesting.

We had an amazing tour with Sydney! Extremely knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Learned many interesting tidbits about Prohibition and thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Martinis at Club Lucky are the best! Thanks for a great afternoon, we highly recommend it.

A great experience - took this tour in the middle of winter and it was a blast. The bus provided is a great asset and is pulled up to the door of each establishment. The cocktails were excellent and it's easy to make new friends and find a few gems to re-visit after the tour. Cheers!

The tour was great!! The guide was amazing, full of knowledge and very funny. Really gave us a complete picture of prohibition. We also enjoyed some.great drinks!
