In partenza dalla Stazione Heuston di Dublino, è possibile prendere un treno per Galway (prima colazione disponibile a bordo), da dove è possibile prendere la strada per l'aeroporto di Connemara per un volo di 10 minuti fino a Inis Mor.
È possibile fare il giro dell'isola, con il tempo di gustare un pranzo al pub a Kilronan prima di visitare il magnifico forte Dun Aengus fort, con i suoi dirupi e paesaggi marini spettacolari.
Per l'imbarco del volo di ritorno, è possibile tornare a Galway City con il tempo di esplorare e fare shopping. Perché non provare una pinta di Guinness in uno dei numerosi pub di Galway, prima di prendere il treno di ritorno a Dublin Heuston, che arriva alle 21:45?

We were very lucky and had great clear weather . It is a lot of travel time on the train and buses but once you get there the trip was worth it ! Gorgeous views after a little rocky hike up . Cute little town great restaurants and stores with a huge selection of Aran knit sweaters . Our tour guide in the island was funny and charming !

Sadly, bad weather prevented us from being able to take the scenic flight to the Aran Islands. We met the friendly representative at the railway station in Dublin - boarded the train, and headed off for Galway. It was lovely to traverse Ireland - and get an idea of the island from east to west. I was very excited about the flight - so naturally, was very disappointed to learn, just before our arrival in Galway, that the Island was too foggy for a safe landing - and so our flight was cancelled. The tour leader was so lovely - concerned that we'd been disappointed, and worried that we'd be upset about not getting a refund - but seriously - I didn't mind that - it was just a shame not to see Aran - especially when we'd come from Australia and may not be able to get back. We weren't interested in an alternative tour offered and decided to just explore Galway instead. The tour leader very kindly pointed us in the right direction and we walked into town. We had a marvellous time - lunch in a very pretty and friendly town. There was a buzz in town for the races, and It was a delight - street entertainment and Irish dancing. We took an early train back, as crowds were gathering for the Galway Races and we thought we'd make a move while it was still not crowded and we had daylight to enjoy the scenery. Not what we had in mind - but very enjoyable anyway!

This was a long and beautiful journey. The Railtours company really knows how to run things. We had a scenic ride of more than two and a half hours across the country with a host from the company who was friendly and informative. From the railway station to the air field was in a van. Very easy. Then we had our rather thrilling 8 minute flight to Innishmore. This Island, with its stark beauty, was a place I've wanted to visit for a long time. So glad I did. In late afternoon we flew back to Galway. A few hours there, then the train to Dublin. All like clockwork.

Beautiful scenery on a spectacular day. Dun Aengus Fort was a fun hike rich in history.
