Stop At: Cinque Terre Trails, Riomaggiore to Monterroso Italy
Cinque Terre are five coastal villages in eastern Liguria that make up a UNESCO World Heritage site! Here, a train links the five different villages together.
A small group tour with a max of 8 people is the perfect solution for those who want to keep the costs down and at the same time touch as many destinations as possible without being in a 54-seat bus.
Your driver will be with you for the entire day. He will escort you on the boat, trail and train. - Public boats operate subject to weather conditions and along the Cinque Terre from April until about the 3rd week of October.
Duration: 5 hours 30 minutes
Stop At: Borgo Storico di Manarola, Manarola Italy
Arrive at Manarola by black mercedes minivan and from there you will take the boat to Monterosso al Mare.Manarola may be the oldest of the towns in the Cinque Terre, with the cornerstone of the church, San Lorenzo, dating from 1338. The local dialect is Manarolese, which is marginally different from the dialects in the nearby area. The name "Manarola" is probably a dialectical evolution of the Latin, "magna rota". In the Manarolese dialect this was changed to "magna roea" which means "large wheel", in reference to the mill wheel in the town.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Biblioteca Civica, Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, 17, 19016 Monterosso al Mare SP, Italy
Monterosso al Mare, a small village with a population of about 1500 soul, this is the largest village! Stone steps link the village center to the port and seaside promenade. Monterosso al Mare is surrounded by hills bedecked in vineyards and olive groves. Thursday is market day: displaying local arts and crafts, food, and wine. Be sure to see the Twelfth Century Church of St. Francis, built in the Ligurian Gothic style, which includes black and white marbles.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Footpath Monterosso - Vernazza, 19016 Monterosso al Mare Italy
From Monterosso al Mare you can hike to Vernazza (120 minutes), or take the train instead enjoying just a 5 minutes ride. To hike in the footpath there is a tickets to pay on your own onsite. If you decide to hike you will have just 10 minutes to spend in Monterosso al Mare.
These ancient trails are rough but manageable. Be prepared for the hiking – although the path is open to everyone, remember that the ground can be slippery, uneven, and in places steep and narrow. The charm of the area is that it is natural and unspoiled; do not expect handrails or safety rails when steps are steep or when the path is close to the cliff edge. The driver will follow the small group by train.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: 19018 Vernazza Italy
Vernazza is the only natural port of the five villages. Being the wealthiest village its architecture is most elaborate. See the Castle of the Doria, look at the watchtowers, and do not miss the Romanesque sanctuary of Our Lady of Reggio. You will be amazed by its simplicity and yet fascinated by its architecture.
In Vernazza we can have a cooling swim in the sea, a nice shower and we can enjoy a delicious lunch made of uthentic Pesto Pasta and fresh Mediterrean seafood (not included in the price).
Train from Vernazza to Manarola and back on the Black Mercedes minivan on the way to Florence with a quick stop to see Pisa Leaning tower.

Our host (Fabio was also our driver and guide). He was waiting for us at pick up point. Fabio was full of knowledge and gave us free time after poiinting us to sites. He kept our group of 8 entertained and made sure we had plenty of water. Only reason we didnt give a 5 rating was because we didnt get to go on the ferry between the towns due to the weather, which was no ones fault.
Nice day trip tour. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. On time, clean car. I would recommend this tour.
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was a full day and expect to do significant walking, and climbing of stairs, etc. Our tour guide, Fulvio was fantastic. Very friendly and polite as well as knowledgable. The drive was about 2 hours from Florence to Cinque Terre, but the van was new and comfortable. My husband and 3 young adult kids (23, 21, 18) and another couple were the only ones on this tour which was very nice. I loved that this tour operator did NOT overbook and cram a bunch of people together. This was an excellent group size and allowed us to move swiftly from the trains once in Cinque Terre. The pictures do not do these places justice. After a full day at Cinque Terre, we hopped back in the van and headed to Pisa. We didn't have much time in Pisa; just long enough to take some pictures. Wished we had more time there, but we had crammed so much into the day already. This was literally a good 11 hour day, but so very well worth it..... and YES, I would do it again. So much more to see in Cinque Terre than Pisa. Fulvio was prepared and offered bottled water and an umbrella as it rained much of the day.
Our tour began early before 7:30am with myself and two lovely ladies from the US. Our tour guide, Marco was engaging and answered all our questions with passion and provided insights into the Italian culture and history. He drove us to Pisa and we took a train to Cinque Terre visiting two villages. He took good care of us making sure we don't get lost in the crowd. The pace was just good and overall happy to have taken this tour as part of my Florence trip.
Like something you’ve never seen. How do people live in this environment? Hills are an understatement. Unreal but so is the beauty of this area. The aqua marine water is something to see. Wow! Coming from the east coast of the United State, I’ve never seen water this color before. Nestled on the cliff side, the houses were something to admire. The colors of the building really popped against the gray mountainside. Just imagine how people farm the side of a mountain……the determination. You’ve got to see it. This area will be burned into your mind. Definitely a “must do” tour!!
This was great trip. I walked between Montrossa and Vernassa I found this very tough the 1 hour is climbing up hill over rough rock and some steps but the amazing views made with worth it. We were advised by our guide this this would not be an easy hike. A great tour and the quick trip in to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa was well worth it. I would recommend this trip.
Omg!! We had the best time ever with Luca. He was an amazing tour guide. He met our family of 4 and another family of 4 on time at our meeting spot. Our first stop was Pisa. The perfect time to go. Then we headed to Cinque Terre. Along the way he told us about the history of Italy and other facts on the way. Luca spent the entire day with all of us. My 7 year old daughter loved him. Still talks about him. He gave attention to both my kids as well as everyone that was in the group. My kids were able to take a quick swim as the other family walked around the town. We took a boat and 2 trains to get to each of the little villages. The villages are beautiful and full of color as well as people, souvenirs, restaurants and lots of Italian culture. Luca then brought us to this amazingly delicious restaurant for lunch. Seafood and pasta were fresh, along with fried fish that my kids could not stop eating. We had such a beautiful day for this trip. It's well worth the money. Our family loved this part of our Italy trip. Not everyone can say they swan in the Mediterranean Sea. I would definitely book tostpur again. The car ride was comfortable and the day was enjoyed by all, that everyone slept just about the entire way back to Florence. Thank you again Luca, for being such an awesome tour guide for our family.
This was a wonderful day! The tour gave you a broad view of the area by boat, train and walking! Our guide was fantastic! We would highly recommend this tour!
A very enjoyable tour as it ended up being just the 4 of us and the driver, who was very knowledgeable.
