First, just want to say that our tour guide was such a nice guy. He really kept a positive attitude the entire trip. This trip was a long day, so transportation comfort is a must. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It was over 120 degrees Fahrenheit outside and we desperately needed ac. The bus lacked this. It was scorching hot outside and inside the bus. HORRIBLE...HORRIBLE...HORRIBLE. The stopping points were in markets that were really aggressive in trying to sell you things...you were followed everywhere. Felt like I was in a shark tank. The port itself was very crowded so watch out. The lunch...honestly wasn't good. The fish was gross. I was so disappointed. They started serving the food when we were still docked, which might have been okay but there was so much exhaust fumes from other boats that it was counterproductive to having a good meal. The ladies aboard were very aggressive in selling their goods. Crazy. The cave was amazing and our tour guide was a lot of fun. Our kayaking experience was great. Overall could have been a great experience if the mode of transportation had AC. We were all dreading the 4 hour ride back home.
Lovely tour with a delicious spread for lunch. The guide was friendly and eager to answer questions. There are breaks for Fishing Village and Cat Ba Island Cave. The cave climb is long and at times slippery so do wear appropriate footwear and be mindful if travelling with anyone who has mobility issues
The best place in vietnam to visit ,Everything was great, OMG finally i can see with my eyes how beautifull halong bay scenery !!! Its such a beautifull place, enjoy all the things at there. Full of story and mistic... how can i am not fall in love with it !!! Price worth for it !!!
This was my 3rd visit to Halong Bay. The friends my husband and I traveled with have never been to Vietnam so we knew we needed to bring them on this tour. Our guide was friendly but he didn't offer us any history or explanation about Halong Bay. When we visited the caves, he just pretty much let us walk around on our own and having been before, I knew there was a lot of information our friends did not receive because it was a self guided tour. The stops we made along the way for bathroom breaks were also way too long. Everyone in our group was ready to leave after about 10 mins but ended up having to stand around for the full 25 mins. We also made a random stop on the way back to pick up a family that was hitching a ride from our driver on the way back to Hanoi. It was very odd.
Great day trip, highly recommend. The tour guide and the boat staff were all very nice and the lunch provided was superb. Note that the bus journey to Halong Bay is approx. 4hrs, we were not aware of this at the time of booking.
Although the weather did not help at all..it was still a beautiful place that I would recommend for a one day tour from Hanoi. Tour was very well organized and lunch was very nice. Only recommendation is if having a big group as ours to get at least 2 tour guides. so that, they can be more engaged with the group and provide more insight on visits i.e. caves. PS: Super thankful for helping me arrange transportation back to the airport to catch a flight at the end of the tour on time. :
Really great tour, we got to see plenty of the bay, were well fed even vegetarians and enjoyed ourselves. Those looking for a longer tour might want to look at two-day options as there's a danger you may feel a little rushed on a single-day tour.
