L'organizzazione non governativa Phare Ponleu Selpak (PPS) è stata fondata nel 1994 da otto giovani cambogiani ritornati nel loro paese dopo un'infanzia trascorsa nei campi profughi al confine con la Thailandia. Riconoscendo l'importanza di preservare la loro cultura e l'arte Khmer, i fondatori, hanno sviluppato programmi sociali ed educativi per bambini vulnerabili che vivono in situazioni difficili, compresi i bambini di strada, gli orfani e i bambini vittime di traffici.
La PPS ha utilizzato il teatro e l'arte circense per aiutarli a reintegrarsi nella società, migliorando enormemente le scelte disponibili per questi giovani una volta raggiunta l'età adulta.
Potrai vedere l'impatto positivo della PPS sui talentuosi artisti di Phare, un gruppo circense che esegue diversi spettacoli durante tutto l'anno. Lo spettacolo (vedi sotto per l'elenco delle rappresentazioni) eleva la cultura, la storia e le credenze cambogiane attraverso la musica, la danza, le acrobazie, la giocoleria, le arti aeree, il contorsionismo e altre arti circensi.

This was a fabulous performance. The content was modern and the skills of these artists was brilliant. The show was well choreographed and you get to meet the artists at the end.

This is an extremely high energy circus show performed by 7 persons, 1 woman and 6 men. Interesting story great acrobatics and very enjoyable. The circus tent is small seating approx. 300 people. Most seats are good. Side seats in the c section, the most economical are good but get there early to get them or you will be seated extreme side and not such a good seat. Music done by musicians is upbeat. The show has dancing, acrobatics and not your ordinary circus. No animals, extreme energy by 7 individuals that perform in the heat no a/c you get a hand fan to use great way to appreciate the show. You are warm but the performers are bathing in sweat. It was a great show but maybe not good for kids. When we saw it, audience was full and 95 adults. Definitely is a good choice for night of entertainment and certainly beats the ansara dancers.

Very professional small troupe which has a noble causes behind it. The performers were very talented, enthusiastic and energetic demonstrating a set of skillls which will helps them with their new career path in life. Funny, engaging and worth the money. Highly recommended.
