L'avventura cenote-sampler comincia con il prelievo dall'hotel di Playa del Carmen, dove la guida ti accoglierà con caffè e pasticcini. Rilassati durante il viaggio di 30 minuti fino a Puerto Morelos, e scopri come la composizione geologica della penisola dello Yucatan è unicamente suscettibile all'assorbimento di umidità, permettendo la formazione dei cenote.
Presso Xenotes Oasis Maya, un nuovo parco gestito da Experiencias Xcaret, potrai visitare quattro cenote in base all'età della formazione, che determina l'apertura del cenote in superficie e la forza delle sue correnti rispetto alla rete di fiumi sotterranea. Ogni cenote del tuo itinerario rappresenta un elemento naturale: fuoco, vento, terra e acqua. Gli antichi maya hanno costruito i loro villaggi vicino a queste doline che gli fornivano delle sorgenti naturali di acqua, e le trattavano come percorsi per comunicare con le divinità. Ogni cenote è custodito da un alux, uno spirito e custode della giungla, che condivide le caratteristiche del proprio territorio. I maya chiedevano spesso agli aluxes il permesso per entrare in un campo o in un cenote per proteggere le colture o tenere alla larga i ladri.
Mentre ti avvicini il cenote "fuoco" di K'aak, un esempio di un cenote all'aperto, ascolta le correnti del fiume che scorre libero e ammira la lussureggiante flora che fiorisce sulle pareti verticali. La tua guida ti racconterà che alux K'aak era conosciuta per la sua vitalità e per incoraggiare le persone a vivere il momento. Fai la tua parte e tuffati in un kayak, oppure galleggia in un tubo interno, e ammira gli splendidi paesaggi intorno a te.
Presso il cenote "vento" di Lik', vola alto e corri sulla zipline sorvolando la piscina d'acqua, in modo simile al volatile alux che amava volare sopra il suo territorio. Le mura di pietra calcarea di questo antico cenote sono collassate completamente, bloccando in gran parte l'accesso al sistema di fiumi sotterraneo. Qui potrai godere una nuotata rinfrescante nelle dolci correnti.
Entra nei panni dello spirito amante del divertimento, l'alux Lu'um, mentre ti cali lungo le pareti di roccia del cenote "terra", un cenote semi-aperto. Qui, l'acqua fluisce orizzontalmente attraverso la falda acquifera delle gallerie e delle grotte.
Visita il cenote "acqua" di Ha', una caverna cenote con una ricca fauna acquatica e accattivanti formazioni rocciose. Mentre fai snorkeling e scopri un mondo acquatico sotterranee, con giardini di ninfee e pesci colorati, goditi il senso di pace e armonia che si respirano nella residenza di questo alux.
Dopo ogni cenote, sorseggia champurrado (una densa bevanda messicana a base di cioccolato) o un caffè e uno spuntino con biscotti. Prima del rientro in hotel, goditi un pranzo pic-nic gourmet, che comprende zuppa di verdure con fusilli, una pregiata selezione di formaggi e salumi, e vari tipi di pane rustico e insalate fresche. Caffè, vino, birra e acqua (in aggiunta a bevande analcoliche e frutta di stagione fornite lungo il tragitto) sono inclusi.

I did not feel that is was a very personable experience. The guide was friendly however, hardly ever spoke unless spoken too. I love history and so would have loved to learn about the different Cenotes that we visited and the history behind them. The lunch although decent was not what I had expected. It would have been nice to be served something from the Mexican culture and not just coldcuts. I have been on several tours over the years and this by far was my least favorite. It definitely was not worth the money that I paid.

Everything was so beautiful and pleasant. We really enjoyed our small group and all the different activities. This isn't a lazy excursion - lots of swimming and other physical activity. It's also a wonderful way to experience the cenotes.

We absolutely loved this tour! Most favorite part of our trip. Something fun for any adventure seeker. They provide, water, bio-degradable sunscreen, showers, towels, snacks/lunch, drinks etc. We loved repelling, kayaking, zip lining, cliff jumping optional, swimming under water falls. It was beautiful. We saw so much wild life on the tour to. Beautiful pictures. The only thing I would change is the photographer that they have help with the tour charges kind of a lot for the pictures. We would have bought them had they had been a little cheaper. Lunch was good and simple. Bathrooms and showers were nice at all the Cenotes. We recommend water shoes or closed sandels because of the frequent change of cenotes and land. The bus was air conditioned and picked up/dropped off at our hotel. Our guide was wonderful and made us feel like family! Cant wait to go again. Highly recommend for couples and families with children over 6.

We had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this excursion. The one thing I was not happy with was the photographer, Jamie that traveled with the group and took pictures throughout the day. Be careful of this. He is very good and did take great photos, but as he tells you the photos will cost 50.00 to access them on the internet. He doesn't tell you that it will cost another 79.00 to upload them without the Xenotes logo plastered on the photo. This I thought was a total rip off.

My 9 year old daughter and I went on this tour last month. It was a really fun day. There was ziplining, kayaking, swimming, and even jumping off cliffs if you were so inclined. I was initially nervous about signing up because of all the activities but none of them were too strenuous and if you really didn't feel comfortable doing something, you could easily opt out. There were many activities throughout the day which kept the day interesting and you were able to see many different types of cenotes as well as learn a little about them and how they were formed. The lunch was very good and the tour guide spoke both English and Spanish so no one felt left out.

Travel provided via shuttle to 4 different cenotes and events. It was organized and executed really well. Lunch was delicious. The guides and staff were knowledgeable . Highly recommended!
