L'Orchestra I Virtuosi dell'opera di Roma, è composta da professori provenienti dai più prestigiosi conservatori italiani, è specializzata nell'esecuzione di tutto il repertorio operistico con particolare attenzione alla tradizione lirica italiana.
"La Traviata", l'opera più famosa di Giuseppe Verdi, è ambientata a Parigi a metà '800 e narra l'impossibile amore tra Violetta, una nota cortigiana, e Alfredo, un giovane nobile di bell'aspetto. Sin dal suo inizio, la loro storia è predestinata a finire in tragedia.
Durante una festa, la cortigiana Violetta scopre che Alfredo la ama da più di un anno. Quasi subito vanno a vivere insieme nei pressi di Parigi, ma a causa del passato licenzioso della ragazza, il padre di Alfredo chiede al figlio di lasciarla. Violetta sacrifica se stessa e Alfredo, inconsapevolmente la ferisce. Pochi mesi più tardi Violetta è morente. Alfredo corre prontamente al suo capezzale. In un primo momento ella sembra riprendersi ma poi cade morta tra le braccia dell'amato Alfredo.
L'orchestra I Virtuosi dell'Opera di Roma esegue di solito le opere nell'elegante Teatro Salone Margherita e nella prestigiosa Chiesa di San Paolo dentro le mura a Roma.

It was amazing. We had a great evening in this old theater. It was splendid. The interprets passed the emotions directly to the public. Beautiful.

This was perhaps the only one and most dissatisfying part of our tour to Italy for 11 days! The reporting time mentioned on the voucher was 7,30 P.M and we promptly arrived at 7.15 P.M ( even though we had to almost struggle to get there as we had finished another full day tour just a while back and had to get back to the hotel to wash and change our attire due the exceptionally hot day in Rome and dressing up right for the Opera ).But the organizers did not seem to respect the time of tourists like us having very limited time on hand! This was our second and final night in magical Rome and we had plans for the evening with some friends over dinner in a nice place at Piazza Navona..The Theatre organizers seemed to be literally calling people from the street and were trying to fill up the seats of an otherwise vacant theatre ! It was extremely hot inside with nil air conditioning and there were no apologies given for making us wait for much more than an hour as the show actually started at 8.40 P.M - once it started we though appreciated the efforts of the performers ( and we aren't Opera illiterates by the way! ) -we were losing patience , feeling extremely suffocated and uncomfortable inside( guys put make shift fans the least !) We tried to justify the visit with due respect for the performers as well as our time and money but finally gave up after act 2 at about 9.45 P.M - of what could have been a beautiful evening went for a six and our mood was absolutely spoilt, while our friends had moved on to another place ! What a disaster - How rude and unjustified to the people who turn up on time !!!! A complete waste and a scam even though the performance we saw was fine! Our last night in Rome diluted by the unprofessionalism of this theatre. Tired , we ventured back to our hotel and never saw Piazza at night!! Sad, Sad Very Sad!!

This was one of the highlights of our Rome trip. We had box seats with dinner. The food was very good and the performance spectacular. A feast for eyes and ears

First opera and thoroughly enjoyed even with language challenges, highly recommend for those new to opera. nice small theatre

If you’re looking for a relaxing evening this is the tour to take The theatre was beautiful it had a lot of character The Cast put on a marvellous show The dinner that was serve between acts was very good I would do this again
