Very informative tour with a helpful, articulate guide. Comfortable transportation and plenty of time at each stop for sightseeing, shopping, refreshments. The hike down into tunnel 3 is not for the faint of heart. In fact, I think too many people went it who should not have, clogging the way down and up. It is a tight squeeze, so not for the claustrophobic. And if you are 6’ for taller, you have walk bent over for a long spell.
This is a great experience that is a must for every history lovers. Gives a good insight to the story of two countries and one nation. The guide was great and spoke English flawlessly.
We enjoy so much the way to DMZ. The pick up was on time, the bus was neat and clean. Kim was a very nice tourist guide. Thanks!
Sadie was an excellent guide and the tour gives you a very good idea of the tension between North and South Korea. It also showed, the hope that the Korean people will be re-united but not as a communist country.
We chose the morning option. Our tour guide Mr. Kim was great, gave us a lot of information both on the road and on each stop of the tour, on the history of Korea and the present situation of the 2 countries. It was also great that we arrived early at all the stops and had time to take it all in, cause once we were done with each place, a lot of other tour groups were coming and it was visible that it got crowded. The tour is really interesting and worth it!
Very fascinating tour! We had guided access to otherwise-restricted DMZ. Our tour guide Mr Kim ('Gold') was knowledgeable, experienced and shared a lot of information; I learnt so much! The visit to the Third Tunnel was physically quite demanding (it's quite an incline) and not for anyone with claustrophobia as it went quite deep down, and some parts were very low and narrow. My favourite part was the visit to Dora Observatory where you could see North Korea. I picked the half-day tour from Seoul without shopping, and would recommend this to anyone who has half a day in Seoul. The tour ended at around 2PM near Seoul City Hall and I had the rest of the day to do other things in Seoul.
Shiney was an amazing tour guide. The tour was informative and fun. I would recommend to anyone interested in the DMZ.
I was on a solo trip, but had a lot of fun with this small group. 'Shiny' was fun and engaging. She made sure we knew what was going on and what we were planning on seeing next. The DMZ overall isn't super thrilling unless you're a history buff. That's not a knock on this tour, just the DMZ in general. Be warned, there's a lot of walking especially at the tunnel. That was the most interesting section as I had never heard of N. Korean tunnels. It's very steep, and you're bent over most the the walk through the tunnel itself.
This tour was great. The van to pick my friend and me up was prompt and our tour guide (Ms. Shiny) met us in the lobby to let us know that they had arrived. The van was nice and air conditioned and during the drive to the DMZ, Ms. Shiny kept us informed with some facts about the relationship between North and South Korea and their history. At each stop on the tour, I think we were allotted a perfect amount of time to explore the area and take pictures and during the travel between each stop, we were provided a bit of background about the next stop which was nice. Overall, I thought this was a well prepared tour and Ms. Shiny was also great.
Every tour is made memorable by the guide who leads it and it was true for half-day Korean DMZ tour as well. We went around all the landmarks, went up the observation post and went down the tunnel and our guide did not let a single stone unturned in keeping with the details.
While I've heard a lot about the DMZ, it was still an eye-opening and humbling experience to visit. Big thanks to our tour guide Jake for sharing with us about the history and cultural significance with the various stops, much appreciated. If there's one improvement to make, it would be good to get more time at the 15-min stops just to soak in the atmosphere. Otherwise, highly recommended.
Everybody thinks they know about North Korea, but almost nobody really does. This tour is informative and interesting, and whilst you don't actually set foot in North Korea, you come away with a much better picture of how the DMZ came about and just some of the fascinating history around this modern day no-go zone. You will get to step into a small section of the DMZ, and you'll get a great view across it with strong binoculars which are sited on the top of an observatory. You'll also explore one of the tunnels dug by the North Koreans but subsequently discovered. You'll even see where the train that should/could go into North Korea, but of course doesn't. Plenty of photo opportunities, and great value. A fun and interesting wat to spend a half day, with an excellent guide.
My parents and I had a wonderful day touring the DMZ. Our tour guide, Shiny, was wonderful. She was sweet and informative, offering much great knowledge. Shiny gave a light but respectful approach to the intense background of the DMZ. The day was a little rushed, but only because two attendees were 20 minutes late to the first meeting spot :(. The tunnel was my favorite part. I would definitely recommend and do again. Thank you Shiny!
The tour met expectations for what could be covered in a half day. The information about each site was sufficient but by no means a history lesson. Our guide Ms. Shiny was very helpful, could speak excellent English, and did a lot to make the tour fun. Note: There is a stop by a ginseng shop on the way back. I’m guessing a partnership of some kind that took around 30 minutes. Opt for the more expensive “no shopping” option if you’d like to avoid this.
Must visit attraction, it was something different experience. Tour guide was good and knowledgeable.
We very much enjoyed our trip to the DMZ. We went on a Tuesday, which we were told was a busy day (Tuesday and Saturday cruise boats from China are in port). That said, our guide Sadie was great and filled our time with good information and a was very organized. We would highly recommend this tour to others.
Very interesting to see the DMZ, view the border with N. Korea and hear about the history. Our guide Kim was knowledgeable. The tunnel was a major climb, I have walking difficulties so only went part way down before coming back up, and my family told me that was a good thing, and do wear the helmet if you're tall. We enjoyed the tour.
My wife and I visited Seoul for the express purpose of visiting the DMZ. WE were not disappointed. The bus trip there was comfortable, with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. He gave us a lot of helpful information on the trip. We were excited to be able to see the North Korea from the lookout tower, to go down into a tunnel that dug by North Korea and found by South Korea. Our guide was friendly and helpful. We would recommend this trip to the DMZ.
Fun trip through the DMZ including the observatory, the 3rd tunnel, freedom bridge and the Dorasan train station. The guide was funny and knowledgeable, the pickup locations were very convenient. The only down side is the trip to ginseng store- I wish this part was optional.
Tour bus pick up ard 11.30am ard exit 3 Honggik Univ statn Hongdae near our accomodation. Our English speaking guide, Kim is full of information, he is very experienced and dedicated. We learned quite alot from him about the history of Korea. As we visited and learned the significance of Freedom Bridge, the Train, the Railway, DMZ, Observatory, we understand more about the peace today. Then the tour continued on to the Ginseng shop. Tour ends ard 5.30pm at City Hall Statn. You are a great guide Kim, thank you.
I learned alot from joining this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and had a sense of humor so the tour wasn't so dry and serious. I'd definitely recommend it to all my family and friends if they visit South Korea.
Awesome day. Very informative. Our tour guide Jerry was so friendly and knowledgeable. We learned so much about the DMZ and Korea itself
