We had only one full day to enjoy Tokyo and are very happy we chose this adventure by Sunrise Tours. We had an excellent, English speaking guide, Chizuko, who brought history alive for us. Before we began, she expressed the need to be punctual at all times, in order to keep our schedule in place. Everyone listened, we were able to visit every site, as stated, in a timely manner. Our lunch was included and was exceptional. Chizuko took us to a hotel overlooking Tokyo Bay, where we had a private dining room on the top floor. Good food, great service, and every group was able to have a private table. Nice! Chizuko answered questions and offered history as we drove from site to site. Tokyo is an amazing city! This was a day trip/shore excursion for us. Our ship was at the Harumi Wharf, so a taxi was necessary to go to and from the bus terminal/meeting place. Make sure to allow time for traffic, etc., if you need to travel a ways to reach the bus terminal. Lots of traffic and construction going on - Olympics 2020!
We chose this tour and also the lunch option. We were really impressed with our guide, the tour ran smoothly and we saw and learned a lot. The Tokyo bay cruise was so relaxing and the lunch option was exceptional. We were treated to a meal with 5 star service. We were very impressed.
More time being told where and when to be on/off bus than Sightseeing info... Arduous transfer points shutlle to get to tour bus departure point, Then, at end of tour they drop you at station to buy own ticket home.!! More time to spend and more info on a hop on hop off us. Poor.
Mr Miya was very informative. We enjoyed all the sights. Lunch was reasonable and we saw a lot. I’m glad we choose this tour.
A very friendly and informative tour guide. Saw alot of Tokyo highlights. Enjoyed the cruise on the Tokyo River. Lunch was included and well presented.
What a wonderful tour for our first day in Tokyo! Our guide, Atushi, was great. He shared lots of fun facts about his city and appears to really enjoy his job. The lunch was above and beyond what I would have expected from a tour lunch - 3-courses, bay view, linens and wonderful service!
I really enjoyedthisall day tour. Gave me a good perspective for my next 5 days in Tokyo. Well paced and interesting- lunch very ordinary but great views. A pity the wind stopped the bay tour.
Great tour, tour guide was very good, informative and you can tell he really love his job. Highly recommended.
The good parts of this tour were the sights seen and lunch menu and venue. The reason for only 3 stars instead of five is the difficulty understanding the tour guide-his English was poor and hard to understand making the tour far less enjoyable than it should have been.
Stunning beautiful treasure of Japan. Very popular place for tourists so very very busy. Beautiful religious place
Tour was okay, not helped by non-stop rain. Tokyo Bay boat tour would have been a waste of time even on a nice day.
Guide was difficult to understand. Western-style lunch was disappointing-rather have local cuisine. Boat cruise nothing special.
a very nice one. Must to do while in Tokyo. I like the cruise Bay and Asakusa Temple was stunning indeed.
Places I've visited on this tour were all excellent. As a bonus, the guide took us to Odaiba Park which is not listed in the description and it is an awesome place to visit. My only negative comment is that the tour includes pick up points in city proper but only two drop off points... bus terminal and Tokyo main subway terminal only. For some not familiar with subway system, they were forced to take taxi back to their hotels.
We really enjoy this tour. We went to a Shinto shrine, a buddhist temple, Tokyo harbour cruise plus Odaiba and more.. Our tourist guide Mini was detail oriented, generally was very helpful. I highly recommend this tour to other Tokyo visitors.
Excellent way to see Tokyo in one day. Naomi was a very good host. A few more minutes at Asakusa temple would have been nice. Unfortunately we couldn't visit the imperial palace due to a special event taking place
This was my first tour with Viator and I was impressed with their service. The tour hit the major sites in Tokyo, was well organized and our guide Yaku knew her city very well. Plenty of time at each stop and the bay cruise was a highlight. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see a good portion of the city in just one day.
She knew her history of religion and Japan She made sure that everyone was taken care of And for everyone to find their way home
Everything was great - from the seat assignments on the bus, to our great tour guide "You Me", to the fantastic stops, to the delicious lunch overlooking the water. Perfect start to our trip!!!
It was a very inclusive trip with a very friendly atmosphere. Our guide, Maisan, was really helpful, open and friendly. Highly recommend this tour to everyone.
Great tour hitting several key sites over different areas of Tokyo in just one day. Time is limited at each site, but sufficient. Only down side of the tour is that over an hour is wasted from time to pick up from hotel, until all people are gathered from different hotels and brought to a central meeting spot. We were told to wait at 7:45, but were not picked up until 8:05. Tour did not start until after 9 AM. Otherwise great tour and tour guide!
Our guide was very knowledgeable and caring. We had some older people on the bus and he always looked out for them. It was unfortunate that we had a very rainy day but you can’t do much about that. All in all it was a good day with an enjoyable lunch.
From hotel pickup to tour conclusion, this tour was flawless. Timing throughout and engaging service were its hallmark.
Our guide Kumie was wonderful! She was very informational, perceptive and professional. She assisted us in personalizing our day tour by providing us the information on how to navigate Odaiba as we wanted to watch the Gundam transform and with no hassle get back to our hotel in Shinjuku! It was a good day in Tokyo!
We enjoyed the beautiful sceneries of Bay Cruise and Aqua City Odaiba. However, we were disappointed at our seats in the back of the bus even though we booked 6 months ahead. We were mostly over 80 years old who are slow but we were always the last to get off the bus. In addition, the tour guide did not give clear instructions. Thus 1 couple were left behind at Meiji. 11 were lost at Odaiba, only 8 managed to return to the bus OK. Unfortunately the 3 oldest of the 6 of us were left behind and had to take taxi back to Ginza. Worse yet, the tour guide asked the other 3 on the bus to get off the bus to take taxi home with the 3 who were left behind. We were so unhappy at the end of the tour. Also the tour guide did not walk to the back of the bus when she showed photos, we did not see any thing. I think the tour guide must give clear instructions at the pointed locations instead of giving instructions at the remote locations. She must keep in mind that we are first time visiters, pointing to is much clearer than describing from some where else. Other tour guides gave clear instructions on the bus or at the pointed locations, we were not lost. This tour guide knows the history of Japan very well. If she learns to give better instructions she will become a very good tour guide.
We were very disappointed with this tour. We saw a few locations for a very short time - not enough to enjoy the sites. The company did not pick us up at the requested location and we were forced to get an expensive taxi to another location in order to make the tour. Lunch was borderline horrible. Bus seats are not comfortable for a larger person.
