Get picked up at your Valencia hotel at 11am and travel by private vehicle for about 25 minutes to Huerto de Consuelin, a cooking school located in a country house in Sueca. Hear from your guide how Spain's national dish, paella, was invented in Sueca as you drive through the rice paddies and orange orchards common to this part of Valencia.
Under the guidance of an expert chef, learn the secrets of Spanish cuisine while crafting the perfect Valencian paella. Get hands-on with the ingredients as you prepare this special dish, and take a break for a drink and a snack of locally grown ingredients as the paella cooks. When the paella is ready, sit down with your class and instructor to enjoy a traditional Spanish lunch made entirely on-site: paella, Valencian salad, and a dessert of homemade cake followed by a traditional digestif (liqueur). Before you leave, receive a personalized "Ambassador of Paella" certificate from the chef, and a recipe booklet to take home with you.
Continue to the Albufera National Park for the second half of your excursion. On a private tour, enjoy beautiful views of the rice fields and the Albufera lake from Montañeta dels Sants. Visit the fishing island of El Palmar, the town that inspired the author Vicente Blasco Ibañez, and see what local life is like there. Wander through the shaded pine forest of Dehesa of the Saler, located between the Mediterranean Sea and Albufera lake, and breathe in the fresh air. This full-day adventure ends when you're dropped back off at your Valencia hotel around 6pm.

The best tour we took in Spain! We loved our two guides/chefs and the Paella dinner was amazing. They even gave us the recipe to make at home. Highly recommend. This was a highlight of our time in Spain!
This was a great tour. We were picked up at our hotel in downtown Valencia and we drove out to the farm area where the orange groves and rice fields were. We arrived at a beautiful quaint house where we were greeted by Rafa, who taught the class of making paella. He is so friendly and we felt so at home being there. Learning how to cook the paella was an experience. We never knew the real ingredients and the way to cook authentic Valencian paella. It was delicious. Our tour guide Victoria translated every step and we learned of the lifestyle of the Valencians. Then we took a ride through the rice fields where they were harvesting the bomba rice, saw how the process was done. Highly recommend the tour, we had a very enjoyable day spending time in the countryside and savoring the paella.
