Overall enjoyed the trip, but there was not enough time to wander and explore the two islands on our own and the sales folks at the glass shop were way too pushy. Even thought they kept repeating there was no obligation to buy anything, they hovered over us and tried to push everything. Their prices were insanely high too.
Really enjoyed both islands and the short introduction to glass making at the New Murano Glass Factory and the place making on Burano. Enrico was a fountain of knowledge during the time on the boat. We will have to go back to the islands to see more.
Our guide was outstanding! He was very thoughtful and professional. The meeting points and instructions were clear and well thought out. He shared a vast knowledge of area which really added to our appreciation of Venice, Murano, and Burano.
We truly appreciated a quality boat trip far superior to basic public transportation. Our guide was full of interesting historical information and insightful local flavor.
Guide was very personable and knowledgeable. Boat felt very safe. Both islands are very interesting. Need bathroom access in Burano and the time there was 15 minutes too long since the lace explanation was brief
Francesca B was a great guide giving us detailed info about everything, a must do when in Venice. Burano is a beautiful town to visit, colorful house makes it picturesque,
Excellent time management, very decent to the point lady guide, an excellent boat and safe captain. Overall a wonderful experience.
Both Islands were amazing, City Winders was very professional and punctual as usual (I booked with them 3 times). Our lady guide was a Venetian, very knowledgeable and sweet
Our guide was wonderful. He had an excellent insight into the area which he shared. The islands were beautiful and interesting. We enjoyed our visit very much.
My family and I especially enjoyed Burano. The colorful buildings were beautiful. We felt that there wasn't as much to do in Murano but enjoyed it nonetheless. This trip was a nice, short trip. Francesca was a great tour leader.
Francesca A. (for City Wonders) is a great tour guide! She shared her local knowledge of Venice and gave us a lot of information about Murano and Burano Islands, as well as the history of Venice and the reasons for the industries located on the outlying islands. She also gave us tips on local restaurants, and what to see in Venice during our short stay. Thank you for a great afternoon, despite the rain! Tonya and Ramone
I highly recommend booking this tour! It’s a great way to see more of the Venice area without dealing with complicated transport. Our guide, Valentina, was amazing - so funny and knowledgeable!
This was a great way to spend an afternoon! Our guide Cristina was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The glass making demonstration on Murano was one of the best parts. The showroom had incredible pieces. The little bit of free time we had on Murano was just enough to walk into town to find some shops that were more in our price range. Burano was a very quiet, but colorful island. Cristina recommended a fantastic gelato shop, and some of the best spots for pictures around the island. I wish there had been more to see of the lace making. There was only one young lady working on a piece, and she was facing us, so we couldn't see much. I cannot say enough about our guide. We got delayed (all boats in the area had to stop) by a regatta that was taking place, but Cristina gave us quite the history lesson behind it and the artichoke festival that was being celebrated. We had 2 kids with us, and they enjoyed it, especially the glass making and the boat ride itself. Great tour and a great guide.
Our guide Antonella navigated the group through the busy streets of Venice to get to our boat and once on board we had a very nice trip through the lagoon to Murano and Burano. We watched a Glass Master make a horse figurine and saw many interesting pieces in the gallery. Next, on Burano we visited a lace shop and had time to relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the views. Antonella was very informative and visited each of the groups to answer questions through the tour.
Our guide was Alessandra who was great, really friendly, knowledgeable and made the visit fun. Both islands are well worth a visit away from the crowds of Venice. You do visit a glass factory and are encouraged to buy something but not in a hard sell kind of way.
What a lovely time visiting the islands of Venice.. Christina was so knowledgeable and helpful!.. We were particularly impressed with the glass-blowing by a master!
Arrived in Venice in the morning and took this trip that afternoon. The ride was beautiful, the two spots were amazing and the entire day was just so nice. Our tour guide was wonderful and shared a lot of tips for our time in Venice. Be sure to visit these two gems and enjoy the boat ride-we loved it!!!!
Enrico made this an outstanding experience with his amazing knowledge of Venice, the islands of the lagoon, and especially of Murano and Burano. He was considerate of the needs of the passengers and he had wonderful suggestions for when we were on shore. I loved his special little highlights of places along the way from the Lido to St. Michelle. He also OFFERED help at the end of the tour for folks needing to get to various places in the city. I highly recommend him and this tour!
This trip is totally worth the money. Our guide Cristina was really knowledgeable. Murano glass tour was really impressive. Burano was okay for me but the colorful houses are really pretty and worth the visit.
We enjoyed the trip and our guide was very knowledgeable. The tour to the Murano glass factory was interesting to watch. The prices in their showroom were extremely high. There wasn't much else to view on the island. We would have liked to have more time at Burano. Interesting island with lots of shops in picturesque setting. Would like the guide to keep negative religious views to herself when speaking to the group; on a one on basis, it is not a problem.
Thanks to Jennifer our lovely guide, we thoroughly enjoyed the boat trip to both murano and burano. Jennifer was very informative, friendly and approachable - we even asked her some questions at the end after everyone had left and she made the effort to talk to us for a while. It was a brilliant experience! Great if you've never been to Venice and want a glimpse into the unique beauty and history of these islands. Can't get over the wonderful colours of all the houses in burano!!! Was well organised, fun, and great to do as a first time trip to Venice.
Excellent tour! The glass making shop we saw in Murano had the most exquisite pieces on display! No pictures allowed though, sadly. I've visited the Corning glass museum in NY and the Chihuly glass museum in Seattle, and some of the pieces at the Murano factory were even better! Burano was also a really neat island to explore. The colorful houses were beautiful. Our guide, Antonella, was also very nice and knowledgeable. She told us so much information about all of the islands on the boat ride! Definitely a great way to explore the islands around Venice.
